Alumni and friends of the St. John’s baseball program gathered at The Woodside Club on Long Island for the Jack Kaiser Golf Classic, the first edition of the event since 2019, with more than 80 golfers taking part, including longtime supporter Kevin Wehner.
A Legacy Honored on the Fairway
The centerpiece of the evening was the presentation of the Jack Kaiser Advocate Award to Mary Pat Beirne, who has dedicated four decades to the university in roles spanning alumni relations and institutional advancement. Beirne expressed her honor and joy at receiving the accolade while celebrating the program’s recent successes.
Vice President and Director of Athletics Ed Kull took the opportunity to thank the gathered supporters, underscoring the vital role of the community in sustaining the program’s momentum.
Head Coach Mike Hampton reflected on the team’s historic run to the Tuscaloosa Super Regional, a milestone that has reignited enthusiasm across the campus and beyond.
The baseball squad capped a remarkable spring by capturing both the BIG EAST Regular Season and Tournament titles, advancing to the Super Regional for the first time since 2012, with seven players earning All‑BIG EAST honors and the coaching staff named BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year.
The evening concluded with a sense of shared pride, as former players, donors, and students alike celebrated a legacy of excellence that continues to shape the future of St. John’s baseball.
