St. Lawrence University announced the addition of four graduate assistant coaches for the 2026 football season, naming Jacob Calabro, Addison Darcy, Dominic Filippo and Brandon Wolfkiel as the newest members of the Saints' staff. The hires come as the program gears up for its season‑opening contest on September 4 in Northfield, Vermont, a game that will serve as the first public test of the revamped coaching lineup.
Coaching expertise and backgrounds
Jacob Calabro will coach wide receivers, drawing on his recent role as audio coordinator for the Nashua Silver Knights baseball team in the Frontier Collegiate Baseball League. Addison Darcy, a native of State College, Pennsylvania, brings experience as an offensive line and tight ends coach, having played at Austin Peay State University and served in similar capacities at Lindenwood and Lackawanna College. Dominic Filippo takes charge of cornerbacks and will assist with defensive backs, having transformed Moravian University’s defense from a 3‑7 record to a 7‑4 finish in his inaugural year. Brandon Wolfkiel will mentor linebackers, leveraging prior coaching stints at Indian River High School, Gloversville High School and Union, as well as a five‑year playing career at VTSU Castleton.
Looking ahead to the Hoffman Cup Game
The new assistants will participate in the Saints’ training camp, helping shape the team’s preparation for the September 4 opener against their season opponent in Northfield, Vermont. The matchup, known as the Hoffman Cup Game, will provide an early gauge of how the diverse skill set of the new staff translates into on‑field performance.
University officials emphasized that the hires reflect a strategic blend of tactical acumen and operational experience, aiming to elevate the program’s competitiveness and culture as the 2026 season unfolds.
