A New Chapter for Stanford Basketball
Stanford’s men’s basketball program is set to take part in the 2026 Acrisure Series, a tournament that has been billed as the largest multi‑team event in NCAA men’s basketball history. The competition will feature 28 teams and 26 games spread over six days, with the Cardinal placed in a four‑team pod.
The opening match is scheduled for Tuesday, November 24, at 9 p.m., when Stanford will meet Colorado. The following day the team will face either Grand Canyon or Saint Louis, depending on earlier results, and the pod’s championship will be decided at 6:30 p.m. on November 25, with a third‑place game following at 9 p.m.
Stanford entered the spotlight after capturing the 2025 Acrisure Invitational, a victory highlighted by a clutch three‑pointer from senior guard Benny Gealer that sealed the title. The team finished the previous season with a 20‑13 record, went 9‑9 in ACC play and earned a postseason berth for the second straight year.
Historically, Stanford holds a 3‑0 edge over Saint Louis but has struggled against Colorado (12‑18) and remains winless against Grand Canyon (0‑1). The upcoming rematch with Grand Canyon offers a chance for redemption.
All games will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network, and tickets will become available to the public on August 8 through Ticketmaster.com.
