The NHL’s Stanley Pup competition is set to make its third consecutive appearance, debuting on June 8 at 9:30 p.m. ET on TruTV with a simultaneous stream on HBO Max.
The televised event will feature 32 adoptable rescue dogs, each embodying one of the league’s franchises, as they navigate a miniature rink and showcase a repertoire of canine skills.
Provided by the Brandywine Valley SPCA, the dogs are drawn from the organization’s adoption program, giving viewers a direct line to potential forever homes for each participant.
Adding star power to the broadcast, a roster of celebrity dog enthusiasts — including actor and comedian Kenan Thompson and veteran NHL play‑by‑play voice Doc Emrick — will appear on camera to offer commentary and encouragement.
Beyond the initial airing, the competition will be rebroadcast on the NHL Network on June 10 and will also be accessible the day before on the league’s YouTube channel, ensuring a wide reach across platforms.
A Winning Goal for Rescue Dogs
The ultimate objective of Stanley Pup is not merely entertainment; it is to convert the excitement of the playoffs into tangible adoption opportunities, guiding viewers toward shelters and encouraging the placement of each competing pup into a loving home.
