A season of milestones
The 2025‑26 campaign will be remembered as one of the most dominant in Staunton Bulldogs history. The team rattled off an 18‑game winning streak that set a new school record, ultimately finishing the season at 29‑4. That mark surpassed the previous high water mark for victories in a single season, underscoring the program’s rapid ascent.
The Bulldogs also cracked the state poll, climbing as high as No. 5 in the Class 2A rankings. Coach Ty Laux added another accolade by being named the 2026 Telegraph Large‑Schools Boys Basketball Coach of the Year, his second straight honor. The club capped the year with championships in the South Central Conference and the Winchester Tournament, further cementing its reputation as a regional powerhouse.
Looking ahead, the core of the squad will return for the 2027 season. Standouts such as Isiah Laux, Jeremiah Graham, Luke Moore and Lucas Dillon are expected to pick up where they left off, giving the Bulldogs a strong foundation despite the graduation of Aaron Bodner and Bryce Coalson.
Individual milestones dotted the run. Isiah Laux sits third all‑time at Staunton with 1,298 career points, while the team shattered the all‑time 3‑point record with 321 makes, led by Bryce Coalson’s 107 threes and Isiah’s 103. Coach Laux also reached his 100th win at the school, finishing a career that spans 17 seasons with a 263‑232 record. Although the Bulldogs fell in the sectional semifinals for the fourth straight year, the momentum suggests another deep run is on the horizon.
