The Staunton Bulldogs basketball team is entering its final high school season with a roster anchored by four senior standouts: Isiah Laux, Lucas Dillon, Jeremiah Graham and Luke Moore. Coming off a 29‑4 campaign, the Bulldogs are determined to translate last year’s success into another deep run.
Summer Grind
This summer the squad has piled on a rigorous schedule, competing in the CM Summer League, the Normal West Midwest Crossroads Shootout and a series of regional tournaments. Each game is seen as a chance to fine‑tune chemistry and expose younger players to high‑level competition.
Coach Ty Laux, himself the father of Isiah, has stressed that teamwork and healthy competition are the cornerstones of the Bulldogs’ preparation. “We want every player to push the other,” he said, noting that the summer slate also serves as a laboratory for experimenting with new lineups.
Beyond the seniors, the roster includes a blend of experienced underclassmen such as Braylen Brown, Peyton Luketich, Austin Spickerman, Jace Spickerman and Weston Washburn, as well as newcomers like Bryce Coalson, Aaron Bodner, Jude Ramirez and Brad Best. The coaching staff is confident that this depth will allow the team to fill the gaps left by graduating seniors while maintaining a strong defensive identity.
The Bulldogs will test their progress in venues ranging from their home gym in Staunton to neutral sites in Bethalto, Centralia, Roxana and even out‑of‑state stops in Wisconsin Dells and St. Louis. Each stop adds a layer of experience that the seniors hope will translate into a final season worth remembering.
