A Family Legacy in the Big Ten
Steele Harris, a standout senior at Great Falls High in Montana, announced his commitment to the University of Wisconsin on June 7, choosing the Badgers over a slate of Division I programs that included California, Arizona State, Michigan State, Illinois, Utah, Utah State and Iowa State.
Harris said the decisive factor was the genuine care he sensed from Wisconsin’s coaches and players, a connection that resonated with his own family’s football tradition.
He will join a program that boasts a deep quarterback room and an offensive coordinator in Jeff Grimes, whose reputation added to the appeal of the Big Ten conference, recently crowned the past three FBS national champions.
The commitment also carries personal significance: his older brother Reed Harris, who previously played at Boston College before transferring to Arizona State, paved a similar path from the Midwest to the national stage.
Harris described his visit to Madison as memorable, highlighting the bustling student union, colorful common areas and live music that gave him a taste of campus life.
With his eyes set on the fall of 2027, Steele Harris looks forward to contributing to a Badgers team that continues to shape the narrative of Big Ten football.
