A hometown effort
Jack Driscoll, an offensive tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers, returned to his Connecticut hometown of Madison to run his third annual free youth football camp, offering local kids a chance to learn from an NFL veteran.
A 2012 graduate of Daniel Hand High School, Driscoll helped the team capture a state championship before embarking on a professional career that included a Super Bowl victory with the Philadelphia Eagles. He spoke candidly about the challenges of rising from a small beach town to the league’s biggest stage.
During the camp, Driscoll emphasized the importance of giving back to the community and inspiring young athletes to dream big and work hard. "I want these kids to see that anything is possible if they stay focused and keep grinding," he said.
Eric Becker, the current head coach of Daniel Hand, praised Driscoll for embodying the program’s values of high goals and greatness, noting that the camp reflects the kind of leadership the school aims to instill in its students.
Looking ahead
As the camp wraps up, Driscoll hopes to expand the initiative in future years, continuing to use his platform to mentor the next generation of players and give back to the community that helped shape his own journey.
