A New Chapter for the Rebels
Stefan Cicic, a 7‑foot center and redshirt sophomore, has officially transferred to the University of Mississippi after completing a season at Pepperdine University. The move follows his graduation from Riverside Brookfield High School in 2024 and a prior year at Tulane University, where he began his college career as a true freshman.
At Pepperdine, Cicic closed the season with a strong stretch, averaging 11.6 points and 6.7 rebounds over his final seven games. He recorded personal‑best performances of 23 points and 10 rebounds against Washington State and hit the game‑winning basket in a 90‑89 victory over Loyola Marymount.
Ole Miss Hopes to Build on a Turbulent Season
Despite finishing the regular season with a 15‑20 record, the Rebels made history by reaching the semifinals of the SEC Tournament. Head coach Chris Beard, now in his fourth year with the program, has guided the team through a period of transition while maintaining a focus on development and competitiveness.
Beard, who has taken four different programs to the NCAA Tournament since 2016, emphasized the importance of adding a player of Cicic’s size and skill set to the roster. The coach also highlighted the upcoming international tour, which will see the Rebels travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico for a six‑day series of exhibition games.
International Exposure and Future Eligibility
The Puerto Rico tour will mark Cicic’s first experience playing basketball abroad. He will have three years of college eligibility remaining, giving him ample time to grow within the SEC framework and contribute to the Rebels’ ambitions on the national stage.
