Steve Schreiber Named Head Coach of Lady Spartans
Steve Schreiber has been appointed head coach of the Lady Spartans women's basketball team at Minnesota State Community and Technical College, bringing nearly two decades of coaching experience to the program.
His coaching philosophy centers on a people‑first approach, emphasizing relationships, accountability and personal growth both on and off the court.
A Journey Built on Experience
Schreiber’s career includes stints as head coach at Brandon‑Evansville, Bemidji and Menahga, where he developed competitive girls' programs and cultivated tight‑knit team cultures.
He also founded the North Central Wild Elite AAU program and serves on the Miss Basketball selection committee, experiences that have sharpened his talent‑development skills.
Education and Personal Roots
A graduate of Bemidji State University with a bachelor’s degree in science and physical education, Schreiber later earned a master’s in athletic administration from Concordia University. He and his family have called Fergus Falls home for the past two and a half years.
Jason Retzlaff, co‑athletic director at M State, expressed enthusiasm about the hire, noting Schreiber’s proven ability to build winning cultures and mentor student‑athletes.
