Steve Trimper, who had led the Stetson University baseball program for ten seasons, announced his resignation on Tuesday, bringing an end to a tenure that reshaped the Hatters' national profile and followed successful campaigns in 2024 and 2025.
A Tenure Defined by Growth
During his decade at the helm, Trimper compiled a 305‑226 record, mentored 21 players who were selected in the Major League Baseball draft, and guided the team to three Atlantic Sun Conference championships, each accompanied by an NCAA Tournament appearance.
The program’s best season came in 2018, when the Hatters posted a program‑record 48 victories under Trimper’s guidance, underscoring his ability to build competitive squads.
Prior to Stetson, Trimper honed his craft at Manhattan College and the University of Maine, where he accumulated a combined 480‑466 record and further developed talent that would later reach the professional ranks. His overall head‑coaching record now stands at 786‑692‑4, reflecting two decades of collegiate leadership.
Stetson University has now launched a national search for a new head coach, aiming to build on the foundation Trimper leaves behind as the program looks to maintain its recent momentum.
