Stevens Ducks Top MAC Freedom Preseason Poll Ahead of 2025 Season

The team earned seven first‑place votes and aims for a third straight championship

Preseason poll sets the stage

The Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team entered the 2025 MAC Freedom preseason coaches' poll with a commanding lead, capturing seven of the nine first‑place votes and amassing 63 points — a ten‑point margin over DeSales University.

Lebanon Valley College followed in third with 51 points, while Misericordia University rounded out the top four with 40 points, underscoring the depth of competition in the conference.

A legacy of dominance

The Ducks have built momentum over the past three seasons, securing their third straight MAC Freedom championship in 2025. During the regular season they outscored conference opponents 30‑4 and finished with an 18‑3 record, just one win shy of the single‑season record.

Key contributors returning to the roster include Defensive Player of the Year Lauren Flynn, alongside Sophia Cozza, Molly DiCampli, Taylor Brooks, Brooke Hughes, Kylee Scherer and Aleah Dinmore, all of whom should help sustain the team’s offensive and defensive prowess.

Opening the campaign

The season opens with three home games, beginning with a showdown against York (Pa.) on September 4 at 4:00 p.m., a matchup that will test the Ducks’ early‑season form.
