A Season of Ambition
The Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey program released its 2026 schedule this week, a roadmap that blends a heavy home slate with a carefully curated road trip. The announcement comes as the Ducks look to extend their dominance in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom division, where they have claimed three straight titles.
Overall, the 2026 season features 18 contests, ten of which will be played at the DeBaun Athletic Complex, giving the team a familiar environment and the advantage of familiar surroundings. The remaining eight games will take the squad to opponents across Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.
The early portion of the schedule is particularly home‑centric. Stevens opens the campaign with four of its first five games on its own turf, beginning with a September 1 showdown against York (Pa.). The following weeks bring contests against Widener, Rowan and New Paltz, each scheduled to be played in Hoboken before the team embarks on its first road stretch.
Non‑conference road trips will see the Ducks travel to Swarthmore, Vassar and Scranton, while later in the month they head to William Paterson and Stevenson for additional home fixtures on September 23 and 26 respectively.
Conference Play Begins
Conference action kicks off on October 3 at King's, where Stevens will host DeSales for its MAC Freedom home opener on October 7. The slate continues with home matchups against Marywood, Delaware Valley and Lebanon Valley, while the team travels to face Misericordia, FDU‑Florham and Arcadia.
The regular season will wrap up with a non‑conference game at Albright on October 28, followed by a conference road test at Arcadia on October 31. A strong finish could see the Ducks finish among the top five in the league standings, earning them a spot in the MAC Freedom Championship Tournament slated to begin November 2.
Should they capture the conference crown, the championship automatically secures an at‑large bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament, scheduled for November 7. The prospect of a fourth straight conference title and a national tournament appearance has injected fresh energy into the program and its fan base.
