Jarin Stevenson is set to anchor the North Carolina Tar Heels once again as he embarks on his senior campaign under first‑year head coach Michael Malone. High School Roots and College Trail
Stevenson starred at Seaforth High School, earning North Carolina 2023 Gatorade Player of the Year honors after averaging 21.8 points, 11.7 rebounds and 3.7 blocks. He began his collegiate career at Alabama, where he contributed 5.3 points and 2.7 rebounds as a freshman and helped the Crimson Tide reach the Final Four with a 19‑point effort against Clemson. After a sophomore season that saw him average 5.4 points and 3.4 rebounds, he transferred to North Carolina for his junior year, immediately becoming a key piece off the bench.
During his first season as a Tar Heel he posted 8.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, but his impact went beyond the box score. He steadied the team during an injury‑riddled second half of the season, highlighted by a 19‑point performance on February 14, 2026 and a 16‑point road comeback at Virginia that showcased his ability to elevate the squad in critical moments.
