Two Penn State juniors, Abby Stonehouse and Grace Outwater, have been selected to Hockey Canada’s National Women’s Development Team for a three‑game series against the United States’ National Women’s Collegiate Select Team.
A Milestone for Penn State Hockey
The matches will take place in Richmond, British Columbia, from August 10 through 16, 2026, offering the duo a high‑profile platform to showcase their abilities on an international stage.
Their inclusion follows a week‑long National Women’s Team Development Camp held at the Richmond Olympic Oval between August 2 and 9, where they trained alongside other top prospects under the guidance of national coaches.
Stonehouse previously earned a bronze medal at the 2023 Canada Winter Games and represented Canada at the 2023 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship, while Outwater was invited to the national camp the summer before and set a Penn State record for goals in her sophomore season.
Together they helped the Nittany Lions capture a fourth straight Atlantic Hockey America title, secure the program’s first NCAA Tournament victory and reach the inaugural Frozen Four appearance, with the championship game hosted at the Pegula Ice Arena.
Both athletes are expected to contend for spots on a roster that could eventually compete in the 2027 Euro Hockey Tour Series in the Czech Republic, underscoring the growing pipeline of talent emerging from Penn State’s program.
