On July 14, Prep Baseball Minnesota staged its Summer ID showcase in the rolling hills of Southeast Minnesota, drawing a crowd of eager scouts and coaches to St. Mary's University in Winona.
The camp attracted more than 20 of the region’s most promising talents, all born between 2027 and 2029, who gathered to display their skills in a series of drills and game‑like situations.
Standout Performances
Coaches noted several standout moments, from a left‑handed pitcher who topped 90 miles per hour to a shortstop whose range and arm strength drew immediate praise. Several participants posted statistically strong showings that will likely boost their recruiting profiles.
The event’s organizers emphasized the quality of competition, highlighting that the caliber of play was comparable to many adult amateur tournaments. Feedback from attending scouts suggested that the prospects on display could become regular names on future high‑school draft boards.
Looking Ahead
With the summer circuit still in full swing, the players who impressed at St. Mary's will now head to upcoming showcases across the Midwest. For many, the Winona showcase served as a first major stepping stone toward college commitments and, ultimately, professional aspirations.
