The 98th edition of the Ohio High School Athletic Association baseball state tournament opened today and will culminate on Sunday, June 14, featuring a slate of games spread across Akron and Canton.

Two Summit County programs remain in the running: Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, known as the Royals, and Walsh Jesuit, the Warriors. Both squads have secured their places among the final contenders after navigating a rigorous regular season.
The Royals are making their inaugural appearance in the OHSAA baseball state tournament, while the Warriors are slated to contest their 11th state semifinal and have a storied history of four Division II championships.
