The Summit League has released its full slate of conference basketball games for the 2026‑27 season, setting the stage for a competitive run that begins on January 7, 2026 and wraps up on February 27, 2027. Each of the league’s member institutions will contest a 14‑game schedule, meeting every other team twice — once at home and once on the road.
Opening Weekend Details
The opening weekend will showcase eight contests, four on the women’s side and four on the men’s, featuring matchups such as Omaha visiting North Dakota, St. Thomas taking on North Dakota State, Oral Roberts traveling to South Dakota, and Kansas City heading to South Dakota State. The corresponding men’s fixtures reverse the pairings, with North Dakota hosting Omaha, North Dakota State welcoming St. Thomas, South Dakota hosting Oral Roberts, and Kansas City hosting South Dakota State.
Strategic Priorities
While exact start times will be determined by the host schools and announced in due course, the league has worked with Faktor Sports to craft a schedule that emphasizes student‑athlete welfare, competitive balance and travel efficiency. The collaborative design process involved input from all member institutions, ensuring that institutional priorities were woven into the final calendar.
Championships and Broadcast
The 2027 Summit League Basketball Championships will return to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, for the 19th straight year, with quarterfinal action opening on March 4, 2027. All fourteen tournament games are slated for broadcast on either Midco Sports or CBS Sports Network, giving fans widespread access to the league’s postseason drama.
