Chance Daniels, a beloved football player at Sumrall High School, was killed early Saturday morning after being shot and then involved in a vehicle collision while being taken to a hospital near Prentiss, Mississippi.
The incident began around 11:30 p.m. on Friday when Daniels was last seen on the school’s football field, after which he was approached near an all‑terrain vehicle park adjacent to State Route 42. He was subsequently transported by an unidentified female driver to a medical facility, only to be involved in a crash inside the city limits of Prentiss.
