A New Era for Sun Devil Basketball
Arizona State University’s men’s basketball team is set to host its first youth summer camp since 2019, marking a significant step under new head coach Randy Bennett. The camp, designed for children from kindergarten through eighth grade, will run from July 27 to July 31, 2026, at the Sun Devil Fitness Complex in Tempe.
Coach Bennett, who arrived in Tempe after a distinguished coaching career, will guide participants through a curriculum that emphasizes skill development, mastery of fundamentals, and a growth‑focused environment. Campers will be grouped by grade and experience level to ensure appropriate challenges and learning opportunities.
The program places a strong emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude. According to camp materials, the experience is intended to foster personal growth while allowing youngsters to enjoy the game. Sessions are offered in three formats — full‑day, morning, and afternoon — giving families flexibility in scheduling.
Open to all genders, the camp welcomes children of varying skill levels to engage in drills, scrimmages, and team‑building activities. The initiative reflects the university’s commitment to community outreach and to building a robust pipeline of talent from the local youth base.
The Sun Devil Fitness Complex, a state‑of‑the‑art facility on the Arizona State campus, will serve as the venue. Its modern courts and supportive environment are expected to enhance the learning experience for campers.
