Sydney Ingram, a 2017 graduate of Archbishop Carroll High School, has been named the new head coach of the school’s girls basketball program, taking the reins after a distinguished playing career and several years of coaching experience.
A Playing Career That Set the Standard
During her time at Carroll, Ingram helped the Patriots secure a third consecutive district championship and earned second‑team all‑Greater Catholic League Co‑Ed honors in the 2016‑17 season. She continued her basketball journey at St. Mary’s of the Woods College, where she was recognized as a USCAA second‑team All‑American.
Ingram’s coaching résumé includes several seasons as an assistant with AAU teams, where she honed her ability to develop talent and instill disciplined work habits in young athletes.
A New Era Begins
She succeeds Cecilia Grosselin, who retired after a decade that produced a 198‑69 record and three straight district titles, including a recent 23‑4 season that captured the GCL Co‑Ed championship.
Carroll Athletic Director Scott Molfenter praised Ingram’s experience and passion for the game, expressing confidence that her leadership will foster positive relationships and a culture of hard work and discipline.
Ingram expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity to shape not only athletes but also future leaders, emphasizing the program’s commitment to excellence on and off the court.
