Syracuse Challenger Baseball Celebrates 2026 Champions Day

Syracuse Challenger Baseball brought its 2026 Champions Day to Carrier Park’s Superfield of Dreams, a venue designed to welcome participants of all abilities.

The celebration featured nine simultaneous games involving 270 athletes from 18 teams spread across three divisions, each contest ending with trophies and a communal banquet.

Executive Director Dom Cambareri, who has steered the program for 24 years and is himself a parent of a participant for 26 years, highlighted the organization’s commitment to inclusion.

A Facility Built for Everyone

The Superfield of Dreams at Carrier Park was engineered with accessibility in mind, offering adaptive equipment and terrain that accommodate wheelchair users, visual impairments and a range of physical challenges.

By integrating baseball with other sports such as soccer, basketball and softball, the site creates a multi‑sport environment where families can explore a variety of inclusive activities.

Dom Cambareri emphasized that the program’s mission extends beyond the field, aiming to foster friendships and confidence among participants and their support networks.

The day concluded with a banquet where players, families and volunteers gathered to share stories, receive recognition and celebrate the spirit of community that defines the league.
