Syracuse University announced that it has offered a full scholarship to Rowan Phillips, a 2028 four‑star combo guard from Philadelphia. The announcement comes as Phillips continues to impress on the national AAU circuit, where he recently led his team to the Peach Jam championship game.
A standout performance
During the quarterfinal matchup, Phillips recorded 22 points, four rebounds, an assist and a steal, followed by a 14‑point, one‑rebound, three‑assist, one‑steal performance in the semifinal. His team, Team Final, also features fellow Syracuse targets Logan Chwastyk and Carter Smith, underscoring the program’s deepening ties with the region.
The championship game is slated for Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in North Augusta, South Carolina, where Phillips’ squad will meet either Team CP3 or AB Elite. Team CP3 is headed by five‑star wing Mason Collins, another prospect who has also received a Syracuse offer.
Phillips’ recruitment has been on Syracuse’s radar for some time. He took an unofficial visit to the campus earlier this year and has been in contact with the new coaching staff led by head coach Gerry McNamara. In addition to the Orange, his scholarship list includes Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Pittsburgh, VCU, Villanova and Rutgers.
Beyond the offers, Phillips is gearing up for his junior season at Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster, Pennsylvania, where he hopes to translate his AAU success into continued growth on the court.
