Syracuse University’s field hockey program has begun the 2026 season with a wave of preseason recognition, as five of its student‑athletes earned spots on the NFHCA Division I Preseason Watch List.
Watch List Highlights
The Orange’s lineup includes senior goalkeeper Jessie Eiselin of Amsterdam, Netherlands, sophomore midfielder/forward Taylor Bigbie from Rocky Point, New York, senior forward Hattie Madden of Lytham, England, sophomore forward Aubrey Turner of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, and freshman midfielder Jess Liddell from Ascot, Berkshire.
Eiselin, who was named to the NFHCA First Team All‑Region in 2025, brings a seasoned presence between the posts, while Madden’s 19 points last year, highlighted by a hat trick and game‑winning goals, underscore her offensive impact.
Turner made an immediate splash as a true freshman, starting every game and delivering three decisive goals, including a penalty stroke that secured a victory over Liberty in the NCAA Tournament.
International Exposure
Bigbie and Turner both represented the United States on the international stage, with Bigbie earning a spot on the U‑21 Women’s National Team for the Junior Pan American Cup in Santiago, Chile, where the squad finished as runners‑up, and both contributing to a top finish at the 4 Nations Tournament in England.
Liddell, meanwhile, was selected for England’s 8 Nations Tournament in Spain, giving the Orange a foothold in elite European competition.
The combination of regional accolades and global tournaments positions Syracuse’s cohort as a blend of domestic dominance and international promise, a narrative that could shape the team’s trajectory throughout the upcoming season.
