A Recruiting Surge at Syracuse
Syracuse University is making a decisive move in its 2027 recruiting class, zeroing in on Nasir Anderson, a five‑star point guard who ranks among the nation’s top ten prospects.
Anderson, a 6‑foot‑3, 215‑pound floor general from Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will be on campus the weekend of September 17‑20, 2024, for an official visit that could shape his final decision.
The visit arrives as first‑year head coach Gerry McNamara, celebrated for his success at Siena and the new culture he is forging at the Orange, seeks to strengthen a roster that faces both financial constraints and on‑court challenges for the upcoming season.
Anderson’s top‑10 list also includes Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Providence, Tennessee, UConn and Virginia, but Syracuse remains a focal point of his recruitment.
The Orange’s other 2027 priorities, Ahmed Nur and Moussa Kamissoko, have already experienced the campus environment, with Nur’s visit described as successful and Kamissoko’s upcoming trip scheduled for early September.
So far, Syracuse has secured a verbal pledge from three‑star wing Jack Donohue, who unofficially toured the campus in June, providing a modest early building block for the class.
