Ushio first made his mark in the NAHL with the Anchorage Wolverines, where he posted 39 points in 40 games during the 2023‑24 season and followed it up with 48 points in 47 contests the next year. He then moved to the BCHL, suiting up for the Prince George Spruce Kings and delivering 66 points — 31 goals and 35 assists — over 47 games, earning both All‑Star Game participation and a spot on the Second Team All‑Star.
His international résumé is equally impressive. Ushio captured a bronze medal with Team Japan at the 2022‑23 U18 World Junior Championships and followed that with a gold medal at the 2022‑23 U20 World Junior Championship (Division 1B). In the latter tournament he was crowned the event’s top player, tallying seven goals and 11 points while leading Japan to a silver‑medal finish.
Standing at 5 feet 8 inches and weighing 161 pounds, Ushio shoots right‑handed and combines a compact, agile skating style with a knack for finding open space in the offensive zone.
