Tampa Bay Lightning Launches 2026‑27 Local Artist Collaboration for Inclusive Hockey Celebration

Local creators will design custom jerseys and merchandise for themed nights that highlight cultural diversity across the NHL season.

The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Lightning Foundation have unveiled the 2026-27 Local Artist Collaboration, a program that invites five Tampa Bay-area creators to reimagine the team's on-ice identity through custom jersey designs and accompanying merchandise for a slate of themed nights.

The effort is rooted in the 'Hockey Is For Everyone' philosophy, aiming to weave the region's cultural mosaic into the fabric of the sport by spotlighting artists whose work reflects the diverse communities that support the club.

Artists and Their Themes

Carlos Pons will lend his vibrant, color-driven aesthetic to Noche Latina, a celebration that will unfold during a showdown with the Seattle Kraken, while Selena Ferrer's surrealist canvases will transform the rink for Pride Night, an event co-presented by Open Water. Brian Kostar's whimsical illustrations will take center stage at Hockey Talks Night, set against the Los Angeles Kings, and Quinn Cale's blend of tradition and modernity will honor Black Heritage Night during a matchup with the Utah Mammoth. Finally, Michelle Sawyer's narrative-driven pieces will underscore Women in Sports Night, presented by Raymond James, as the Lightning face the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Beyond the jerseys, the designs will cascade onto apparel, promotional items and in-arena graphics, extending the artists' stories to fans throughout the arena and online platforms, thereby deepening the connection between the team and its community.

By giving local talent a platform to share their heritage and personal journeys, the collaboration not only enriches the visual experience of each themed night but also reinforces the Lightning's commitment to inclusivity and cultural celebration throughout the upcoming season.
