A New Chapter for Latson in Las Vegas
Ta’Niya Latson, the 5‑foot‑8 guard drafted 20th overall in the 2026 WNBA Draft, has officially signed with the Las Vegas Aces after being released by the Los Angeles Sparks.
Latson’s college journey began at Florida State, where she earned the Tamika Catchings Award as the nation’s top freshman and later led the Seminoles to a national championship game appearance. She transferred to South Carolina for her senior season, helping the Gamecocks reach the title game while averaging 14.1 points and 3.6 rebounds per contest.
During her lone season with the Sparks, she appeared in ten games, posting a high of six points with three rebounds and two assists, numbers that barely scratched the surface of her potential.
Veteran star Kelsey Plum has publicly praised Latson’s transformational jump and defensive intensity, signaling that the Aces view her as a player who can make an immediate impact.
The move comes as the Aces have made several roster adjustments, including the recent release of Chennedy Carter and the signing of guard Justine Pissott, setting the stage for a fresh lineup heading into a Thursday night matchup against the Portland Fire at 10 p.m. ET.
Latson will look to translate her collegiate success — highlighted by a 25.2‑point per game scoring average in her junior year — into a professional role that could reshape the Aces’ backcourt dynamics.
