Tanner Daniels, the captain of Hobart's men's hockey team, has officially signed a professional contract with Dogs de Cholet, a club competing in the French Division I league.
The agreement follows the recent re‑engagement of his former teammate Matthew Iasenza with the same club, a move that has been highlighted by Hobart Head Coach Mark Taylor, who described the signing as a perfect fit for both the player and the organization.
A milestone for the program
Daniels arrives after a standout collegiate season in which he earned 2026 AHCA All‑America East second‑team honors, finishing with 37 points across 31 games, including 12 multi‑point outings, and ranking second on the team in goals.
His career totals now stand at 117 points — 49 goals and 68 assists — over 119 appearances, placing him as the program’s all‑time leader in games played and fourth in career assists while sitting eighth in points.
The signing marks the fifth instance in the past two years that a Hobart alum has secured a professional contract in France, underscoring the program’s growing international footprint.
Beyond club commitments, Daniels helped the team capture three national championships, four appearances in the title game, three conference titles and a historic 68‑and‑0 home record set by his graduating class.
With his blend of experience and skill, Daniels is expected to make an immediate impact in France, continuing a trend that reflects the quality of education and competition at Hobart.
