Tarleton State University’s men’s basketball program has released its full slate for the 2026‑27 United Athletic Conference season, marking the first year under head coach Eric Haut. The announcement comes as the program prepares to enter a new era of competition within the nine‑team league.
A packed conference slate
Conference play opens on January 6, 2027, with a home doubleheader against Central Arkansas and Little Rock. The schedule will run for nine weeks, delivering 16 matchups against the league’s other eight members, each team facing its opponents once at home and once on the road.
Haut has built an experienced roster, listing 11 upperclassmen among his 14 scholarship players. The coach emphasized continuity, noting that nine of the newcomers arrived via the transfer portal while a single freshman also makes the roster.
Games are set for Wednesdays and Saturdays, creating a rhythm that alternates between home and away environments. The early portion of the season features two consecutive home games before the team embarks on a week‑long road trip that begins at Eastern Kentucky and concludes at Austin Peay.
Mid‑season action includes several doubleheaders, most notably a Wednesday‑Saturday series against North Alabama and a subsequent road swing that ends with a matchup at UT Arlington. February brings a second bye week on February 3, after which the Texans travel to Abilene Christian before returning home for a series of contests that culminate in a final home game against UT Arlington on February 27.
The regular season wraps up on March 6 at North Alabama, setting the stage for the conference tournaments in early March. Both the men’s and women’s brackets will feature the top eight teams from March 10‑14, offering a final chance for postseason qualification.
