A streak of preseason accolades
The 2026 preseason All‑America teams released by Stats Perform have once again highlighted the talent emerging from Tarleton State’s football program, naming offensive lineman Aidan Moe and return specialist DeAndre Buchannon among the nation’s most promising players.
Moe, entering his second season with the Texans, earned the honor after a breakout year in which he helped the offense dominate the conference rankings, contributing to a scoring average of 42.4 points per game and a total offense that placed the team first in the league.
Buchannon, who transferred from West Georgia before the previous season, quickly made his mark as a kick returner, ranking sixth nationally with an average of nearly 30 yards per return and capping the season opener with a 92‑yard touchdown return against Samford.
The duo’s selections mark the fourth straight year that Tarleton State has been represented on the Stats Perform Preseason All‑America list, a streak that began with Hunter Smith’s 2023 nod and continued with standout performances from Kayvon Britten and Darius Cooper in the following season.
Coach and athletic staff have praised the consistent pipeline of talent that keeps the program competitive at the FCS level, noting that the recognition not only reflects individual excellence but also the depth of the roster that helped the Texans allow just 1.83 sacks per game and limit turnovers to nine all season.
