Lehigh’s field hockey program announced a new addition to its coaching staff: Taryn Mayer will join as an assistant coach for the upcoming 2026 season. The appointment was confirmed by head coach Corey Mayer, who highlighted the strategic value of bringing a former collegiate standout back into the program.
Mayer’s playing résumé includes two years at James Madison University and two at Shippensburg University, where she contributed nine goals over 41 appearances. Her collegiate tenure was marked by academic honors and participation in back‑to‑back NCAA Division II Final Fours, underscoring a blend of athletic talent and scholarly achievement.
A Family Legacy in the Making
Taryn Mayer’s coaching trajectory began in the high school ranks, where she served as an assistant at Bensalem High School in 2025. She also lent her expertise to club programs such as Mystx Field Hockey Club and Philly Hockey Club, gaining hands‑on experience that complements her academic background in psychology.
