Tate Swanson, the captain of the Hibbing/Chisholm Bluejackets, has officially pledged to continue his hockey career at the United States Air Force Academy.
During his senior year he recorded 43 assists and 71 points, earning him a spot as a finalist for the Minnesota Mr. Hockey award and helping his team capture the Class AA state championship with 12 points in six playoff games.
His brother, Cole Swanson, announced a commitment to Western Michigan University shortly after Tate’s decision, adding another layer of excitement to the family's hockey narrative.
Swanson will spend the 2026‑2027 winter with the Nanaimo Clippers of the BCHL, a stint that could pave the way for his arrival at the Air Force Academy in 2027.
