Taylor Angley-Holman, whose five‑year tenure at U‑Prep produced a 118‑47 record and four Northern Section titles, has been appointed head coach of the Shasta College men’s basketball program.
Angley-Holman succeeds Kele Fitzhugh, who retired after 29 years and seven Golden Valley Conference championships, marking a generational shift for the program.
A Community‑First Philosophy
Rooted in the mantra “Enjoy the Journey,” a motto his mother Rochelle Angley popularized, the new coach emphasizes relationships over rankings, aiming to build lasting bonds with players and the Redding community.
He credits his family’s support — especially after his mother’s passing following a seven‑year battle with breast cancer — for helping him navigate a challenging personal year while stepping into the new role.
Offensive coordinator Dustin Fortenberry, under whom Angley-Holman also served the Panther football team, voiced strong support for the transition, highlighting his leadership qualities and vision for the program.
Looking ahead to the 2026‑27 season, Angley-Holman plans to recruit local talent, hoping to blend home‑grown players with the rich basketball tradition of the North State.
Honoring a Legacy
The Shasta College program, long celebrated for its championship pedigree, will now seek to extend its success under Angley-Holman’s guidance, preserving the competitive spirit that has defined the team for decades.
