Taylor Booth, a senior at Buchholz High School in Gainesville, Florida, has cemented her place among the nation’s elite in flag football, finishing the season with a record‑breaking 2,040 receiving yards and 23 interceptions.
Her performance earned her the Gainesville Sun’s All‑Area Girls Flag Football Player of the Year and a commitment to continue her athletic career at Florida Gateway College, one of the few institutions that offers a collegiate flag football program.
A Dual‑Sport Star
Beyond the gridiron, Booth also excels on the basketball court, having led her team deep into the postseason and drawing praise from teammates and opponents alike.
She attributes much of her development to her coach, Joe Tillman, whose guidance she says has been instrumental in shaping both her technique and her mindset.
Buchholz High School celebrated Booth’s achievements alongside four other All‑Area selections, underscoring the program’s growing prominence in a sport that has thrived at the high school level for two decades but remains nascent in college athletics.
The community’s excitement is palpable, with local fans and school officials heralding a new era for female athletes in the region.
