A 16‑year‑old student was gunned down late Tuesday night just steps from Pearl‑Cohn High School, ending a night that began with a high school football game.
The shooting occurred at about 10:30 p.m. on Herman Street near 25th Avenue North, shortly after the game had ended. Witnesses reported that shots were fired from a white sedan with tinted windows, striking the teen in the chest.
Investigation and Reward
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department has opened a homicide investigation and is working to identify the shooter. In response, the Youth Peace & Justice Foundation has announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
Cameron Frierson, a junior at nearby Hunters Lane High School, was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center but did not survive. The foundation is also raising funds to cover funeral and memorial expenses for his family.
When classes resume on Monday, grief counseling will be available for students and staff. School officials say they are coordinating with community partners to provide support during this difficult time.
The incident is part of a developing story, and authorities have promised to release updates as the investigation progresses. The community remains on edge, demanding answers and justice for the young life lost.
