At just 18, Eleri Williams has turned a teenage hobby into a thriving enterprise, opening a boutique in Cardiff’s historic Royal Arcade.
From bedroom sales to high‑street shop
The venture began as a side project during her GCSE years, when she started buying and reselling vintage football shirts from her family’s collection.
Her business quickly scaled, generating more than £35,000 in profit and earning her a reputation among collectors for rare finds such as a Super Furry Animals‑sponsored Cardiff City shirt she refuses to part with.
Balancing school, exams and a growing shop, Eleri relies on her parents to run the counter when her studies demand attention, a support system that has helped keep the operation afloat.
Now set to enroll at Cardiff University for a law degree, she plans to use the earnings to graduate debt‑free, illustrating how entrepreneurial spirit can offset rising education costs.
Her favorite piece of memorabilia remains the vibrant blue 2002‑03 Manchester United third kit, a reminder of the passion that sparked the business.
