Andrew Duncan, a transfer from Wright State, arrives with a strong collegiate pedigree, having posted a .367 batting average, hit six home runs and stole 12 bases during his junior year, earning All‑Horizon League first‑team honors.
Duncan’s collegiate journey began at Florida State before he transferred to Wright State, a path that culminated in a 2023 draft selection by the Houston Astros, underscoring his potential at the professional level.
Campus Competition
In Knoxville, he will vie for a starting spot alongside veterans such as Reese Chapman and Garrett Wright, both of whom are among the outfielders the Vols may lose, creating a competitive battle for playing time.
The coaching staff has also secured seven additional transfers, bolstering the depth chart and suggesting a broader effort to rebuild a unit that could otherwise be thin on experience.
