Tennessee’s men’s basketball program is set to welcome two of the nation’s most coveted 2027 prospects for official visits on September 19.
Official Visits Highlight a Pivotal Recruiting Cycle
Four‑star shooting guard Justin Wise and four‑star center Chris Brown will step onto campus as the Vols look to add depth to a roster that still has openings after the graduation of two seniors.
Wise, listed at 6‑foot‑4, is ranked No. 63 overall and No. 5 among shooting guards in the 2027 class by 247sports, while also holding offers from Clemson, Georgia, Miami, Texas and Vanderbilt. Brown, a 6‑foot‑9 big man from Dream Christian and Arizona, sits at No. 107 nationally and No. 10 among centers, with Rivals placing him at No. 82 overall.
A Crowded Field and Scholarship Outlook
Both players are still exploring their options, with Wise confirming Tennessee remains in his top six and Brown noting a recent connection to Malachi Jordan from last season. The Vols currently have only two scholarships definitively accounted for, leaving room for at least two new signees, a situation that could shift with NBA draft declarations or portal moves.
The upcoming visits come on the heels of several unofficial trips last fall, including four‑star guards RJ Moore and Chase Lumpkin, signaling a busy September for the coaching staff as they aim to shape the next recruiting class.
