Tennessee Announces Full 2026‑27 Men’s Basketball Schedule
The university revealed the complete slate on July 27, outlining a season that blends a rigorous SEC slate with a challenging non‑conference lineup.
Conference Play Begins at Home
The Vols will open SEC competition on January 2 against Vanderbilt at the Food City Center, and they will host nine of the league’s top teams, including Florida, Alabama, Arkansas and Vanderbilt, the four programs that finished ahead of them last year.
Road trips will take Tennessee to Auburn, LSU, Kentucky, Texas A&M, Missouri, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Texas and the final regular‑season opponent Vanderbilt, ensuring a balanced mix of venues.
Overall, the schedule features 18 home games, 10 true road contests and four neutral‑site matchups, giving the team a balanced distribution of rest and travel.
Non‑Conference Highlights
Before stepping into league play, Tennessee will open with five straight home games, highlighted by a showdown with Michigan State on November 17. The non‑conference slate also includes contests against Florida State, Purdue and NC State, as well as participation in the Players Era Tournament in Las Vegas, where the Vols will meet Maryland, Iowa State or San Diego State, and a yet‑to‑be‑determined third opponent.
