Tennessee's football program has entered the 2029 recruiting race by extending a scholarship offer to Jordan Lewis, a towering offensive tackle from South Carolina.
A physical presence at the line
Standing at 6‑foot‑4 and weighing 285 pounds, Lewis brings a rare combination of size and athleticism that has drawn interest from a dozen programs across the country.
The offer comes after UNLV was the first school to reach out on March 23, and it follows a cascade of additional invitations from Memphis, Alabama and a host of other power‑conference teams.
Recruiting landscape
Lewis hails from Dorman High School in Roebuck, a school that has become a notable pipeline for talent, and his commitment would mark one of the earliest pledges in Tennessee's 2029 class.
While the Volunteers currently hold 18 verbal commitments for the 2027 cycle, they have yet to secure any pledges for the 2029 cohort, making this early overture strategically significant.
Coaches hope that landing a prospect of Lewis's caliber early will help shape the offensive line identity for the upcoming class, a group that could influence the program's trajectory for years to come.
