A New Era for the Vols
Senior linebacker Jeremiah Telander, who will be entering his fourth year with the Volunteers, spoke passionately about the squad’s mindset, describing the team as ‘extremely hungry’ and emphasizing the relentless work they have put in over the summer to build chemistry.
Telander noted that the roster will feature 40 new faces, a testament to the program’s aggressive recruiting and player development efforts. The influx of fresh talent, he said, will complement the experience of returning starters and push the team to compete at a higher level.
Over his first three seasons, Telander has amassed 158 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, an interception, three pass breakups and three forced fumbles, underscoring his role as a defensive anchor.
Coaches and teammates alike credit his leadership and the bonds forged during the offseason as key factors that could translate into on‑field success when the first game kicks off.
