The University of Tennessee’s football program will step onto the field in 2026 wearing a fresh set of Adidas uniforms that revive a classic look of white helmets, orange tops and white pants, marking the first time the Volunteers have sported Adidas gear since 2015.
A New Era in Volunteer Uniforms
The 2025 season showed how much the team’s on‑field results could hinge on what they wore, as the traditional orange‑jersey combination posted a 3‑2 record, while the all‑white ensemble yielded two wins and two losses, and the ‘orange britches’ kit captured victories over UAB and Mississippi State without a home appearance.
Under the new Adidas agreement, the Volunteers will wear a jersey patch sponsored by First Horizon Bank, a partnership that underpins a deal worth more than $12 million per year across the entire UT athletics portfolio.
The season opener is slated for September 5 at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, where the Volunteers will face Furman in a 3:30 PM ET kickoff that will be streamed on SEC Network+. Later in the year, on October 3, the Volunteers will don ‘smokey grey’ uniforms for a home game against Auburn, a tribute to the 100th anniversary of General Robert Neyland’s inaugural coaching season, before switching to a historic orange throwback for the Third Saturday in October showdown with Alabama—the first color clash between the two programs since 1970.
