Heritage on the field
The University of Tennessee has rolled out a fresh set of away jerseys that blend the program’s deep‑rooted traditions with a modern aesthetic. The unveiling highlights a collaboration with Adidas, bringing a new number font inspired by classic block athletic typefaces to the Volunteers’ wardrobe.
The white version of the uniform features a subtle inscription from the school’s oldest pre‑game ritual stitched inside the collar, a detail that only the most attentive fans will notice. This nod to history adds a layer of storytelling to the garment.
A fresh look for the road
Centered on the collar, the iconic Power T returns inside an orange circle, reviving a graphic that has been a constant on Tennessee kits from the late 1990s through the early 2000s. The redesign revives a beloved emblem while integrating it into a contemporary layout.
The new number font, developed in partnership with Adidas, draws on the bold, blocky lettering that defined Volunteer football for generations. This subtle shift in typography ties the modern uniform to the team’s historic visual language.
The redesigned jerseys will make their debut in the Volunteers’ second game of the season, when they travel to Atlanta to face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The matchup offers a high‑visibility platform for the new design, allowing fans and media to experience the heritage‑infused look on a national stage.
