A Strategic Addition to Evansville's Coaching Staff
Terry Johnson has officially taken on the role of associate head coach at the University of Evansville, bringing a résumé that spans some of the most respected basketball programs in the country.
During his tenure at Purdue, Johnson contributed to a historic season that saw the Boilermakers finish the regular year ranked No. 1 and advance to the national championship game. His time at Ohio State was marked by an 87‑44 record and three NCAA Tournament appearances, while at Butler he helped the Bulldogs secure eight tournament bids, including back‑to‑back Final Fours.
Before entering coaching, Johnson excelled as a two‑sport athlete at Lincoln Trail College and Lamar University, earning all‑conference honors in both basketball and baseball. He later completed a bachelor’s degree at Indiana University‑Purdue University Fort Wayne and a master’s in sports administration from Western Kentucky University.
Coach David Ragland, who announced the appointment, highlighted Johnson’s winning pedigree and his talent for building strong relationships with players and staff, noting that the new hire arrives with a proven track record of success.
