A Season of Special Games
The announcements include a Maroon Out showdown for the Lone Star Showdown on November 27, a Red, White and Blue tribute, a Blackout night against Tennessee, and a historic celebration of the university's 150‑year football legacy against Arkansas.
The Maroon Out, a tradition that dates back to 1998, asks supporters to flood Kyle Field in maroon attire, turning the stadium into a living tribute to Aggie pride. The upcoming edition will coincide with the Lone Star Showdown, the annual rivalry game against the University of Texas.
Adding a patriotic layer, the Red, White and Blue game will commemorate both the 25th anniversary of September 11 and the 250th anniversary of the United States, weaving national history into the college football narrative.
The Blackout game, now in its third iteration, is scheduled for November 14 against the Tennessee Volunteers, promising another evening where fans will don all‑black apparel to amplify the stadium’s electric atmosphere.
The October 3 contest with Arkansas will serve as the centerpiece of the 150th‑anniversary celebration, marking a century and a half of Aggie football and offering a nostalgic look back while looking ahead to future triumphs.
