The Texas A&M Aggies saw their SEC Tournament run end on Saturday, succumbing to a 7‑0 defeat at the hands of the Auburn Tigers, a team that entered the game as a formidable opponent.
Auburn’s pitching staff proved relentless, limiting the Aggies to just two hits while racking up nine strikeouts from starter Andreas Alvarez, who worked five innings before exiting.
The early blow came in the first inning when Bub Terrell’s RBI double plated a run, and the Tigers added four more in the second frame, building a comfortable lead.
Relief efforts were equally effective for Auburn; freshman LJ Cormier shut down the lineup over four innings, fanning four batters, while Shane Sdao’s sixth‑inning appearance saw Chris Rembert drive in another run with a double.
Aggie reliever Gavin Lyons was charged with a run on an RBI single by Eric Guevara, and later in the seventh inning Ethin Bingaman launched a solo home run off Sdao, the only Aggie long ball of the night.
