Texas Baseball Adds Two Assistant Coaches Ahead of Upcoming Season

Jack Marder and Caleb Longley join the Longhorns staff, bringing experience from Oregon and the Cincinnati Reds

A Strategic Boost for the Longhorns

Texas baseball revealed the addition of two assistant coaches, Jack Marder and Caleb Longley, as the program prepares for the next season. Both hires are expected to reinforce the team's offensive and defensive strategies.

Marder arrives after seven seasons at Oregon, where he guided the Ducks to NCAA Tournament appearances in each of his full years and secured two conference championships. His work earned recognition from D1Baseball as one of the top assistant coaches in the country.

Longley comes from a stint as a minor‑league hitting instructor with the Cincinnati Reds and previously served as the recruiting coordinator at Texas A&M, where he helped assemble the fourth‑best transfer portal class nationally. He also spent three years on the Longhorns' staff before returning.

In his new role, Marder will work directly with hitters and catchers, while Longley will focus on hitters and overall defensive schemes. Their combined expertise is seen as a strategic move to elevate the program's competitiveness.
