The University of Texas announced this week that Jack Marder will join its baseball program as an assistant coach, effective July 1, 2026.
Marder arrives after a seven‑year stint at Oregon, where he helped the Ducks compile a 249‑124 record and capture multiple conference titles while guiding the team to NCAA Tournament appearances each season, including super‑regional trips in 2023, 2024 and 2026.
During his tenure the program set 19 single‑season school records and 11 career records, and he mentored 12 MLB Draft picks, 14 All‑America honorees and 32 All‑Conference selections.
His coaching journey also includes two years at Stanford, a role at Keiser University that led the Seahawks to their first NAIA World Series appearance, and a volunteer assistantship at Purdue in 2016 where he helped develop nine players drafted in the 2019 MLB Draft.
Before entering coaching, Marder played professionally in the Seattle Mariners organization, reaching Double‑A and being selected in the 16th round of the 2011 MLB Draft after a standout college career at Oregon.
A Recruiter With a Proven Track Record
Texas head coach Jim Schlossnagle praised Marder’s recruiting acumen and coaching expertise, noting that his addition strengthens the program’s ability to attract top talent and compete for a national championship.
Marder expressed gratitude to Oregon and excitement about the new challenge, stating his goal is to help Texas win a national championship and continue the Longhorns’ tradition of excellence.
