Texas Eyes College World Series with New Transfer
Texas’ baseball program is undergoing a strategic overhaul, bringing in a wave of transfers designed to reshape the roster and push the team back to the College World Series.
The latest addition is Payton Brennan, a former UCLA outfielder who arrives after a junior season that saw him hit .290 with 63 hits, 51 RBIs, 11 doubles, three triples and nine home runs.
Brennan’s arrival comes as UCLA, which finished the year with a 52-8 record and captured its first Big Ten title, saw its campaign cut short in the Los Angeles Regional, falling to St. Mary’s in the loser’s bracket.
Coaches believe Brennan’s blend of contact hitting and clutch production will add depth to a Texas lineup that was held to just four hits in a 2-0 shutout by Georgia in its final game.

With the new pieces in place, the Longhorns hope to translate their improved offense into the postseason, where a return to the national stage is the ultimate goal.
